Automatically generated resources, a new feature!
Google can now automatically create your advertising assets. Some advertisers have access to a feature that allows Google to automatically create Google advertising assets for RSA campaigns, streamlining the ad creation process. The feature uses creative content from the following sources:
- Landing page
- Relevant web pages
- Existing text ads in the same ad group
- Keywords in the same ad group
- How automatically created resources work
If you have access to this new feature, you’ll ask Google to generate resources from eligible sources, based on their relevance and expected performance.
These automatically generated Google advertising assets can take the form of whole sentences, expressions or paraphrases, while preserving the original meaning and maintaining campaign effectiveness. The resources generated are added to the pool of eligible resources for your Reactive Search Ad (RSA).
When your ad is ready to be served for a request, the system consults the pool of eligible resources (supplied by the advertiser and created automatically) and selects the resources expected to perform best.
Advertisers can view the performance of their automatically created assets by accessing the “Reports” section of their advertising account.
Report on assets.
You can see which assets are used in RSAs by navigating to “Asset report” from the ad level to “View asset details” and displaying all assets used.
You can use the “source” column to distinguish between automatically created assets and assets created by advertisers. Automatically created assets will display impressions and performance ratings.
In the channel-level resource report, automatically created resources are visible in the same way as advertiser-supplied resources.
Combination ratio.
The actual combinations and ads served can be viewed by going to “combination report” and viewing all the ads served.
Refusal option.
You can choose not to use auto-generated resources by going to your Google Ads account, accessing the Settings page, clicking on Auto-generated resources, then selecting

Why should we care?
As with any new Google advertising assets feature, test, test, test to ensure optimal performance. If you have access to the beta version and wish to use automatically generated resources, make sure this option is checked in your account. Keep a close eye on ads and performance.
